Kimber Kable, which has been working on a new high purity conductor design for quite some time, has now released their five figure statement, the "Naked" interconnects.
The Naked conductors are uninsulated solid core copper with a thick gold plating on top of an intermediate layer of palladium. This intermediate layer isolates the gold from the copper to prevent their creating lower conductivity alloys as the two materials interact with each other. These 24awg conductors are braided together with cotton stranding for isolation and to take advantage of cotton's excellent dielectric properties.
