Shunyata's New Statement in Power Cable Design: Omega QR

We were excited to receive our first sample of Shunyata Research's new statement power cord, the Omega QR ($9000/2m standard length). 

Long in development, the Omega QR uses a new conductor design called VTX-Ag. This new conductor geometry takes Shunyata's "Virtual Tube" concept a step further with the addition of a center core of high purity silver surrounded in a coaxial fashion by their high grade copper conductors. 

Terminated with new connectors and incorporating the "QR" noise rejection tech developed for their AC Line Conditioners, our expectations were very high for this new statement design from one of the industry leaders in powerline products.

Listening results: superb! While the "Shunyata sound" has traditionally been a little to the more harmonically rich side of neutral, this new design offers improved transparency, openness, and dynamics while retaining the musicality that is Shunyata's strong suit. Most importantly this statement AC cable is in the vanguard of anticipated upgrades to their more consumer-friendly (as far as pricing goes) core product lines during the rest of 2020. Something to watch!
