New in the Library: Shunyata Releases v2 Signal Cables
Following up the release of their latest, excellent"v2" series AC cables,Shunyata Research has now completed the v2 versions of their Delta, Alpha, and Sigma interconnects, speaker cables, and digital cables.
incorporate the company's new VTX-Ag conductors with a center core of silver surrounded by concentric copper conductors for a faster, clearer, and more dynamic presentation than the v1 models. This is the same conductor geometry which is put to such good use in the new v2 power cords. A major upgrade.
Each level has been upgraded with what was the next higher level tech in the v1 series. This means that the Delta model now includes the Ztron tech previously available in the Alpha v1 model. Alpha v2 gets the "TAP" (Transverse Axial Polarizer) module to mitigate EMI field micro-distortions which was first seen in the v1 Sigma model. The new Sigma v2 (XLR version pictured) now has dual TAP modules, one on each end, further improving upon the Sigma v1 performance.
Similar to the changes in the v2 Interconnects, the tech in the Delta v2 Digital Cables moves up one level basically acquiring the Alpha v1 tech. Alpha v2 and Sigma v2 both feature a new common-mode noise filter to address high frequency noise without the compression which could result from previous efforts at noise filtration.
