New Shunyata Venom PS10 - Shipping Feb. 15

When Shunyata Research discontinued their very high quality PS8 extension strip we were left a little short. It had been an easy recommendation, and we appreciated that the performance could be significantly elevated in a modular fashion with an add on Venom Defender filtration module and the addition of a good power cable. The PS8 had a lot of solid applications.

But good news: we have just learned that the company will begin shipping on February 15 a new power distributor called Venom PS10 which includes a hard-wired, noise-reducing Venom NR 12 power cable, adds two more outlets (10 in total), and also a Carling electromagnetic breaker, all for the same $798 that the PS8 sold for on its own. With these built in upgrades, this is an impressive value proposition.

We haven't laid hands on the PS10 yet, but given the designer, who has been on a tear, and reports from beta testers, we feel comfortable recommending this new power distributor right now. We are told that Shunyata has been building up stock before the formal release, so if you order now you can expect delivery this month.

  As soon as we have our Library samples and more details, we will report further, but if you need something now, it looks like Shunyata Research may have just raised the bar for affordable power distributors.
