New in the Library: RSX Technologies Phono Cables and Power Cords

Roger Skoff will be a familiar name to many readers. Roger is best known as the original designer/founder of XLO cables. Hard to believe but it was 18 years ago when he sold the XLO business, which of course is still operating, and has since appeared in the on-line press as a writer on all things audiophile. Back in the days of XLO he created a broad range of cable designs which evolved towards his ultimate "Limited Edition" models. But curiously, in two of his most successful categories - phono cables and power cords - he never released what were the top shelf XLO "Limited Edition" models. Why? He couldn't beat what he had already offered as in the lower model ranges using materials that were available at the time. But now, years later, as materials science has evolved, he feels that he has finally been able to exceed the best results from his XLO days. The results are the "Beyond" phono cables and power cords available through his new RSX Technologiesbrand.

Yes, for now at least, RSX is only building their high purity copper phono cable sets and power cords. But the top-line Beyond designs have trickled down to a family of three cables in each category, therefore:

"Prime" phono sets (from $1250) and power cables (from $925),

"Max" phono sets (from $1850) and power cables (from $1350),

and at the top, his best ever "Beyond" phono sets (pictured, from $3150) and power cables (from $2250).

As Roger modestly pronounces: “Better“, “Much Better”, and “Best.”

In addition he saw the need for a high quality, no nonsense extension strip, and has arranged production of his 8 outlet $399 "Power8" design ($450 with 20A IEC inlet). It is a bargain.

Let's face it: 2020 is a tough year to launch a new brand, but given the quality, performance, and our history with the designer, we are very pleased to have samples for all RSX products available for a very worthwhile audition through The Cable Library.
